Sheet Metal
Sheet metal is the most common material used in ducting for ventilation. The metal is pressed or hammered into sheets that are light and flexible. It is generally under 6 MM in thickness. It can be made from tin, steel, aluminum, brass, and more. Most forced-air furnaces are made with sheet metal. Ductwork for ventilation and air distribution is made from sheet metal. It is ideal for the construction of ductwork. It is lightweight, flexible, and airtight. Smith Plumbing & Heating has been working with sheet metal in Saskatoon since 1917.
